Family inclusion
Who can be included in a Greek Golden Visa application?
One qualifying investment covers the investor, the spouse or registered partner, children under 21, and the parents of both the investor and the spouse. Each family member receives their own five-year residence permit tied to the same investment, with no additional investment required.
Children and the age limits
Children qualify while under 21. Permits for children can then be renewed to age 24, after which they need their own residence basis. Families planning around university years should count backwards from these limits when timing the application.
Parents and in-laws
The parents of the main applicant and the parents of the spouse are both eligible, which is unusual among European residency programmes and matters for families planning a base for three generations. Grandparents hold their own permits, renewed on the same five-year cycle.
What family members can and cannot do
Family permits carry the same rights and the same limits as the investor's: residence in Greece, Schengen travel, no salaried employment, no stay requirement. If the main investment is sold, all permits tied to it lapse, so the family's status stands and falls with the property.
Questions buyers actually ask
Does my spouse need a separate investment?
No. One qualifying investment covers the spouse or registered partner, children under 21 and the parents of both spouses.
How long can my children keep their permits?
Children qualify under 21 and can renew to age 24. After that they need their own residence basis.
Are my in-laws covered?
Yes. The parents of both the investor and the spouse are eligible under the same investment.
